Julian Wilcox

Ngāpuhi, Te Arawa

Julian Wilcox (Ngāpuhi, Te Arawa) first hit the New Zealand airwaves in 2004 with Māori Television (now Whakaata Māori) and was one of the most prominent faces and voices of the channel for its first decade. Throughout his career, Julian has presented and produced a range of shows, including the station’s highly praised ANZAC Day coverage and award-winning current affairs show Native Affairs.

In 2012, Julian won Best Current Affairs Presenter at the NZ TV Awards. Julian has also worked as Māori TV’s general manager of news and current affairs and as chief operating officer for Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. This year Julian became newest host of The Hui, a programme sharing Māori perspectives on current affairs.
