A dedicated practitioner and researcher of Taonga Pūoro, Elizabeth is driven by a passion for cultural reclamation and healing. She shares from her lived experiences of parenting, healing and Taonga Pūoro as Rongoā (traditional Māori healing).

Elizabeth's work has led her to guest presentations to diverse audiences, sharing the healing aspects of Taonga Pūoro. She is actively involved in Hapū Wānanga ki Tainui, where she demystifies colonial gender stereotypes and inspires Ira Hapū (pregnant people) to reconnect with ancestral healing traditions during pregnancy.

A Director of Haumanu Collective, Elizabeth's desire for her children to read Reo Māori stories of the world of Taonga Pūoro, her debut book, Hineraukatauri me te Ara Pūoro, tells the story of the journey of Hineraukatauri finding her voice, represented by the Pūtōrino (flute instrument), weaving in the Whakapapa of Sound.

Elizabeth is deeply committed to honouring ancestral wisdom and integrating traditional knowledge into the whare.
